Voice dictation for macOS

Speak once. Get text you can use.

Moro is a native Mac voice dictation app that turns speech into finished text in the field where you are already working.

Apple Silicon · macOS 15 Sequoia+ · Windows version in development

What it does

More than speech to text

Works at your cursor

Use one shortcut in chat, email, browsers, documents, notes, and code editors. Moro writes back without opening a separate workspace.

Cleans up as it transcribes

Filler words, punctuation, and basic formatting are handled before the text lands, so there is less editing afterward.

Cloud or on-device

Choose higher-quality cloud transcription or keep speech processing on your Mac when local-only mode is enabled.

Workflow

How voice input works

  1. 01

    Press your shortcut

Summon Moro without leaving the current app.

  2. 02

    Speak naturally

Pause, restart, and use everyday language instead of dictating punctuation.

  3. 03

    Keep working

Moro returns polished text to the active field.

Common questions

A few details worth knowing

How is this different from macOS Dictation?

System dictation mainly produces raw text. Moro can also remove filler words, adjust punctuation, apply intent, and write a ready-to-use result back in place.

Can transcription stay on my Mac?

Yes. Local-only mode keeps transcription and processing on the device. Local models may need to be downloaded before first use.
